Nasreen Mohamedi

Nasreen Mohamedi (* 1937 in Karachi ; † 1990 in Kihim , Maharashtra ), grew up in Mumbai , was an Indian artist .

Life

Mohamedi studied at the St. Martins School of Art in London from 1954 to 1957 . She had her first exhibition in 1961 at Galerie 59 in Bombay. She then attended the Guillards Atelier in Paris until 1963 . From 1972 to 1988 she taught at the Faculty of Arts in Baroda , India. The media of her art are drawing and photography. She exhibited at the 1975 Triennial in New Delhi and the 1985 exhibition Indian Artists in France at the Center National de Arts Plastiques in Paris. Mohamedi died of Parkinson's disease in 1990 .
