Nasser El Sonbaty (born October 15, 1965 in Stuttgart , † March 20, 2013 in Cairo, Egypt) was a professional bodybuilder .

Nasser El Sonbaty's father is from Egypt, his mother from the former Yugoslavia. He studied history, political science and sociology at the University of Augsburg . In 1983 he started bodybuilding. In the 1990s he won international competitions or took top positions. He has taken part in the Mr. Olympia competition organized by the IFBB nine times since 1994, and achieved his greatest success in 1997 when he came second. He won the Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic in 1999. During his most successful years, Nasser weighed around 150 kg in the offseason and had a competition weight of 122-131 kg. He had 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

Nasser wrote articles for fitness magazines and was featured on the front cover of US bodybuilder magazine FLEX. He lived in San Diego , California.

On March 20, 2013, Nasser El Sonbaty died of kidney failure.
