Wet Martin-Gousset

Nasser Martin-Gousset (* 1965 in Lyon , France ) is a French dancer and choreographer for contemporary dance.

Life

Martin-Gousset's father is Egyptian and his mother comes from Corsica . After training at the Conservation national de région de Lyon , he worked as a dancer since 1985 with Karine Saporta , Dominique Petit , Sasha Waltz and Meg Stuart, among others . With Josef Nadj , one of his teachers, he worked on various pieces.

In 1996 he founded his own ensemble under the name La Maison . In 1996 he created the piece Alléluia for the Théâtre de la Bastille . His work is often based on literary models. For example, Neverland (2002) is based on a text by Emily Brontë . His 2006 play Péplum was inspired by Joseph Mankiewicz 's film Cleopatra . In 2001 he worked with director Yves Beaunesne and brought La Princesse Maleine by Maurice Maeterlinck to the stage. In 2004 Uncle Vanya followed Anton Chekhov .

In October 2008, Martin-Gousset's Comedy was performed in Paris at the Théâtre de la Ville - Sarah Bernhardt . It uses dialogues and situations from the films The Pink Panther (1963), The Party Scare (1968) and Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) by Blake Edwards . In November 2009 he danced La Belle at the Théâtre national de Chaillot in Paris .

In 2010 Martin-Gousset's piece Pacifique was premiered at the Biennale de Lyon and shown again in May 2011 at the Movimentos Festival in Wolfsburg .
