Movimentos
The Movimentos Festival Weeks are an important international festival for contemporary dance and culture. The focus of the festival, which has been organized annually by Autostadt in Wolfsburg since 2003 , was until 2018 performances by international dance companies in the KraftWerk, an event room in the former southern cogeneration plant of the Volkswagen plant in Wolfsburg , which can hold around 1,000 spectators . Between 2006 and 2018, the dance productions were accompanied by a series of concerts, readings, discussions and workshops, which, like the core program, had an overarching theme. In 2016, the funds for the festival were reduced by 20 percent as a result of the VW emissions scandal. In the same year, over 24,000 people attended the events; the occupancy rate was 97 percent. In 2019 the festival took place in "Hafen 1" for the first time.
Movimentos dance award
The Movimentos Dance Prize, awarded in 2004 and 2009, was awarded to outstanding personalities in contemporary dance as part of the Movimentos Festival Weeks. A jury of recognized experts from the global dance scene selected the winners in the categories of best dancer, best dancer, best choreography , best young artist and life's work.

In 2019, the dance events took place for the first time in the newly built, 1400-visitor event center "Hafen 1" between the power station and the Autostadt. In addition, the festival was scheduled for July / August and thus later than before, there was no side program and no central topic. The occupancy rate was 93%.
