Wet Shabani

Nasser Shabani ( Persian ناصر شعبانی, * 1957 ; † March 13, 2020 ) was an Iranian general within the Iranian Revolutionary Guard .

Life

Shabani began his military career in 1982 during the First Gulf War . In the same year he took part in the suppression of the Amol uprising and in 1988 in Operation Mersad . Shabani later wrote several books on the First Gulf War.

In 2011 he became President of Imam Hossein University . Most recently, he appeared in 2018 a broad public appearance when he announced on Iranian state television, the attack on two Saudi Arabian oil tanker in the Straits Bab-el-Mandeb by Huthi -Rebellen was made on the orders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.

He died in March 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic in Iran as a result of a SARS-CoV-2 infection.
