Nastja Arcel

Nastja Maria Arcel (born October 3, 1963 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish actress , documentary film director and book author .

Life

family

Arcel's mother, the psychologist Libby Arcel , was born in Greece and met Arne Arcel, a Dane who was to become Arcel's father, on a ferry. Arne Arcel is an architect. Nastja Arcel grew up in Copenhagen. She met her future husband, Mikael Fock, at the drama school of the Odense Theater , where she was a student and he was a lecturer in television . She lives with her husband in Christianshavn . They have two daughters together, the younger of the two, Mathilde Arcel Fock , is also an actress.

She is the older sister of the director and screenwriter Nikolaj Arcel , in whose films she occasionally takes part.

Career

From 1982 to 1983 she attended the drama school of the National Theater in Athens. In 1987, after three years, she finished her training at the Odense Teater drama school. In addition to Danish, she speaks fluent English and Greek. In 2006 she received her diploma in journalism and communication from Danmarks Journalisthøjskole . In 1989 she was permanently engaged at Det Kongelige Teater and played there in the musical Esther in the same year . Since then she has played musical roles such as B. in the Danish version of Chicago and Mamma Mia! She also appeared in various television series, such as Bryggeren and The Eagle - The Trace of Crime , and worked on several films. For her role in the film Königspatience - Intrige im Parlament ( Kongekabale ), she was nominated for the Bodil Prize for Best Supporting Actress in 2005.

In addition to her career as a theater, television and film actress, she has also held senior positions in the industry. She has been a member of the board of the Dansk Skuespillerforbund since 2003 and the same in Det Københavnske Teatersamarbejde since 2005 . Because of this dual role, there were protests on the part of other board members of the actors' association in 2006 and 2007, as it represented the interests of both employers and employees. Since then, however, she has been elected to both boards several times.

Together with the pastor Anna Mejlhede, she published the life guide Kys dit Kaos in 2006 - livet er alligevel noget rod . Four years later she published another guide entitled Tag magten over dig selv .
