Nata is a place in the Central District in Botswana .

geography

In 2011 Nata had 6,714 inhabitants. Except for a few public buildings, the place is structured in a rural way.

The river of the same name flows through Nata and occasionally floods the Sua Pan, the northern and eastern parts of the Makgadikgadi salt pans . The area around Nasa is flat and the climate is arid . Maun is about 300 kilometers to the west, Gweta 100 kilometers to the west and Francistown about 175 kilometers to the southeast. After Kazungula in the north-northwest, there are around 275 kilometers.

history

The Bamangwato ruler Sekgoma II spent several years of his exile in Nata until 1920.

Economy and Infrastructure

Nata is at the junction of the paved A3 , which connects Francistown with Maun in an east-west direction, and the A33 , which leads from Nata to Kazungula and on to Namibia . To the west of the village is Nata Airport , whose ICAO code is FBNT.

Nata has a health station, the Nata Clinic, and two schools, the Nata Primary School and the Nata Senior Secondary School, which opened in 2011 .
