from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Natale Ricci (born December 25, 1677 in Fermo ; † May 14, 1754 ibid) was an Italian high baroque painter who worked in Italy in the 18th century.

biography

Natale Ricci came from an artist dynasty who worked in Fermo for almost two centuries in the service of the lower local nobility and, above all, church customers. Natale, son of the painter Alessandro (1750–1829), was a student of Carlo Maratta . In his hometown he worked in the very active workshop of his brother Ubaldo (1669–1732), but was very dissatisfied with his work.

His son Filippo (1715–1793) studied in Bologna with Donato Creti and later in Rome with Corrado Giaquinto .
