Life

Ubaldo Ricci came from a family of artists who worked in Fermo for almost two centuries in the service of the local nobility and, above all, church customers. Ubaldo was trained in Rome by Giovanni Francesco Romanelli and Carlo Maratta . Back in his hometown, he ran a workshop that he ran in close collaboration with his brother Natale (1677–1754) and that spread an eclectic , simple, devoted painting style between the Marche and Abruzzo regions.

The family also included Filippo (1715–1793), son of Natale and nephew of Ubaldo, and his children Lucia and Alessandro (1749–1829).
