Natalie Moorhead (* 27. July 1901 in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania as Nathalia Messner ; † 6. October 1992 in Montecito , California ) was an American actress .

life and career

Natalie Moorhead began her acting career in the theater and made several appearances on Broadway in the 1920s . In 1929, shortly after the start of the sound film era , the blonde-haired actress made her cinema debut. A year later, she played her first leading role in The Shot in the Dark as a partner of William Powell . Another great success she succeeded again in 1934 at Powell's side in The Thin Man , where she played an attractive but mysterious murder suspect. When her success waned at the end of the 1930s, she retired from acting in 1940 after making around 70 films.

Natalie Moorhead was married to Raymond Phillips from 1929 to 1930 . With the director of the first sound film, Alan Crosland , they married from 1930 to 1935. She was married to actor Juan Torena until his death in 1983. Natalie Moorhead died in California at the age of 91.
