Natan Peled

Natan Peled ( Hebrew נתן פלד, * June 3, 1913 in Odessa , Russian Empire ; † January 8, 1992 in Israel ) was an Israeli politician .

Career

When he was eight years old, his family moved to Bessarabia , which had belonged to Romania since 1919 . There he learned at the Hebrew school in Chișinău . He took part in the Hashomer-Hatzair movement and was its secretary. He was also secretary of the central committee of the Hechaluz movement.

In 1933 he moved to Palestine. From 1960 to 1963 he was the Israeli ambassador to Austria and from 1970 to 1974 Minister for the Reception of Immigrants.
