Nathan Alexandar Blake (born January 27, 1972 in Cardiff ) is a former Welsh football player . The striker was a Welsh international .
He played from 1990 to 1994 at Cardiff City , with whom he was promoted to the Second Division in 1993. In February 1994 he moved to Sheffield United in the Premier League , but at the end of the season there was relegation to the First Division . In December 1995 he was signed by the Premier League club Bolton Wanderers . The Wanderers got down, but in 1997 they were immediately promoted back to the highest class. After the club was relegated again in 1998, Blake moved to Blackburn Rovers in October , with whom he also had to go into second division in 1999. 2001 succeeded the Rovers promotion to the Premier League, but they sold Blake to the first division club Wolverhampton Wanderers . With Wolverhampton he made it to the Premier League in 2003. After a weak season, however, the direct relegation followed. For Blake it was already the fifth thing that happened to Hermann Hreiðarsson only . Blake moved to relegated Leicester City , but was loaned to Leeds United in January 2005 . In August 2005 he was banned for six months after a positive doping test .
Blake was called up to the Welsh national team 29 times between 1994 and 2003 and scored four goals.
