Nathaniel Parr was an English engraver , printer, and editor .

Life

Nathaniel Parr was possibly the son or the older brother of the engraver Remigius Parr (* around 1723 in Rochester, Kent).

Nathaniel Parr engraved in a similar way to Remigius Parr and was also employed by the English publisher Thomas Bowles in London . However, Parr also printed for his own account and published prints as well.

Engravings by Nathaniel Parr are known with portraits , some copper plates for books. Architectural engravings are known to have been made with buildings in London and Florence , the latter based on models by Giuseppe Zocchi . Parr made a series of a dozen stitches with marine objects after “P. Monamy, ”he also did some paintings from Vauxhall Gardens .

A colored copper engraving from around 1745 from the Great Garden in Herrenhausen is known .

Nathaniel Parr's engravings are difficult to distinguish from Remigius Parr's.
