National Security Council (Gambia)

The National Security Council (NSC, German  National Security Council ) is an advisory body on the security of the state of Gambia .

history

In the constitution, the National Security Council is described in paragraph 78 of the constitution of the Gambia . After this mention should be made with the following people:

The President, the Vice-President, the Secretaries of State responsible for Defense and Internal Affairs, the Chief of Staff of Defense and two other members of the armed forces appointed by the President, the Inspector General of Police, the Director General of State Intelligence, the President's Intelligence Adviser.

The task according to the constitution:

" The National Security Council shall be responsible for advising the President on all matters relating to the security of The Gambia and the integration of domestic and foreign policies relating to its security, and, under the direction of the President, shall take appropriate measures to safeguard the internal and external security of The Gambia and to provide for the co-operation of the departments and agencies of the Government in that regard. "

The National Security Council has the task of advising the President on all issues relating to the security of The Gambia and the integration of domestic and foreign policy in connection with the security of the country, and, under the leadership of the President, takes appropriate measures to protect the interior and external security of The Gambia and to ensure cooperation between government ministries and agencies in this regard. "

President Adama Barrow launched the Security Council in August 2017 as part of the reform of the security sector (with slight differences in the persons, for example with the appointment of the Interior Minister).
