Ousman Sowe

Ousman Sowe (* 20th century in Bulok ) is a civil servant in the West African state of Gambia . Since February 2017 he has been General Director of the Gambian intelligence service, State Intelligence Services (SIS).

Life

Sowe holds a Masters Degree in Diplomacy with Honors from the University of Malta and an MA in International Politics and Security from Bradford University . He earned a BA in Development and English from Saint Mary's University in Halifax .

Sowe was previously the director general of the National Intelligence Agency - as the SIS was previously called. Sowe was later transferred to the Ministry of Environment as a Permanent Secretary . On February 13, 2017, the newly-elected President Adama Barrow appointed Sowe as director general of State Intelligence Services. He replaces Musa Dibba , who was only installed in this position on February 2, 2017. Since then, Dibba has held the position of Deputy General Manager.
