Monuments of the People's Republic of China
The list of monuments of the People's Republic of China , ( Chinese 全國 重點 文物保護 單位 名單 / 全国重点文物保护单位 名单 , Pinyin Quánguó zhòngdiǎn wénwù bǎohù dānwèi míngdān - "National Monument Protection List of the Most Important Cultural Monuments of the People's Republic of China") is a list drawn up by the State Council of the People's Republic of China of state-protected national historical sites and cultural assets.
A first list with 180 monuments was drawn up on April 3, 1961, a second with 62 in 1982 . It has since been expanded several times over (see overview). The list includes significant sites for history, art and science: buildings, cultural assets, tombs, ancient architecture, cave temples , stone inscriptions and more.

A total of exactly 4,295 objects have been on the list since the 7th resolution of 2013. An 8th list has now been published (September 26, 2019).
