The National Guard of Ukraine ( ukr . : Національна гвардія України) is a reserve association of the Ukrainian armed forces .
history
The National Guard of Ukraine was established in 1991. It existed until 2000 and then merged with the Ukrainian Internal Forces, founded in 1992 .
On March 12, 2014, the task force was re-established by resolution of the Ukrainian parliament . Her tasks include securing borders and maintaining internal security . It was re-established against the backdrop of Russian intervention on the Crimean peninsula . It reports to the Ministry of the Interior and is used in the fighting in the southeast of Ukraine .
