history

The Lahnwiesen natural toboggan run (Latzfons toboggan center) was built in 1988 and expanded and used a year later. In the same year, the first Italian championship in natural tobogganing took place on this track . In the 1990s, the track was shortened and the target area redesigned. From 2003 to 2004 the entire runway was completely rebuilt: the width was changed so that there was space for an access road parallel to the runway, the curves were adjusted, the infrastructure of the start and finish area was rebuilt. In addition, the lane lighting was installed. The official inauguration of the new natural toboggan run took place on January 9, 2005. The first natural toboggan World Cup race took place in February 2005 . Further world cup races were held in 2010 and 2012. Maintenance work is carried out annually. The first European Sport Luge Championships took place in 2013, followed by the 22nd FIL Natural Track Luge World Championships in 2019 .
