Natural Track Luge World Championship
At the natural track toboggan world championship since 1979, the world champions in natural track tobogganing in the disciplines single-seater men , single-seater women and doubles have been determined. Both genders are allowed to start in the doubles, but almost exclusively men take part in this discipline. A team competition was held for the first time in 2001 and has been held regularly since 2005. It consists of a single-seater race for women and men and a double-seater race. From the 2020/21 season, the team competition will only be held with a woman and a man. The world championships are organized by the International Luge Federation (FIL) . So far there have only been medal winners from four different associations: Austria, Italy, Russia (and previously the Soviet Union / CIS) and Poland. In the men's single-seaters, all medals awarded so far have only gone to starters from Austria and Italy.
