Natural Track Luge World Championship 1982

The third FIL - natural track luge World Cup took place from 16 to 21 February 1982 in Feld am See in Austria instead.

The Austrian Gerhard Pircher became world champion in the single seater and won his only medal at major events. The second-placed Italian Otto Bachmann had already won bronze two years ago. Third was the 1979 world champion, Austrian Werner Prantl , who also won bronze in the doubles.

At the third natural track toboggan world championship, there was the second female world champion. After the Italian Delia Vaudan , who was fourth this time, won in 1979 and 1980 , the gold medal went to her compatriot Herta Hafner that year . The Austrian Hilde Fuchs won silver and the Italian Paula Peintner won bronze .

As with the women, the world championship title also went to Italy for the third time in the doubles. Andreas Jud and Ernst Oberhammer won ahead of the reigning European champions Alfred Kogler and Franz Huber from Austria. The bronze medal went to the Austrians Werner and Florian Prantl , who had already won bronze in 1979 and became European champions.
