Burgberg Wocklum nature reserve

The nature reserve Burgberg Wocklum is a 3.67 hectare nature reserve (NSG) east of Balve in the Märkisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . The NSG was designated for the first time in 1989 by the district council of the Märkisches Kreis with the landscape plan No. 2 Balve-Mitteleres-Hönnetal under the name Burgberg Wocklum nature reserve east of Balve . The NSG was re-designated in 2015 by the district council of the Märkischer Kreis with the 2nd amendment to landscape plan No. 2 Balve-Mitteleres-Hönnetal under the name Burgberg Wocklum .

Area description

The NSG is the forest on the top of the castle hill. The forest is a lime beech forest and an elm stand with rocks. On the summit there are remains of a historic hill fort , the Ollen Borg .
