Hengelsbach nature reserve
The Hengelsbach nature reserve is a 2.12 hectare nature reserve (NSG) southeast of Rüthen in the Soest district in North Rhine-Westphalia . In 1942, 1957 and 1966 the Arnsberg district government designated the area as an NSG by ordinance. In the east, the NSG borders directly on the district boundary. In the area of the city of Brilon in the Hochsauerlandkreis , the Eselsbruch / Harlebachsystem nature reserve is directly connected .
Area description
The NSG is the upper stream of the Hengelsbach . The creek is located in a moderately steep Kerbtal which extends from west to east. There is a rest of alluvial forest by the stream. At the southern edge there is a narrow, low-growing reed stand on a swelling subsoil.
