Klef nature reserve (Neuenrade)

The Klef nature reserve is a 7  hectare nature reserve (NSG) east of Werdohl in the urban area of Neuenrade in the Märkisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . The NSG was designated as NSG in 2004 by the Arnsberg district government by ordinance. The 11.2 hectare nature reserve of the same name directly joins the urban area of Plettenberg .

The nature reserve is part of the FFH area "Schluchtwälder im Lennetal" (DE-4712-301).

Area description

The NSG is a rocky steep slope exposed to the Lenne (Ruhr) . There are species-rich and tiered mixed slope forests on the slope. Partly it is about grove - red beech forests . It is partly a former coppice forest .
