The nature reserve Peterbachquellgebiet is in the municipality of Simmerath west of Vossenack .

description

The Kall tributary of the Peterbach rises in an area lined with spruce trees with natural springs and spring streams. In the southern part there is a spring moor. The aim is to close the drainage ditches and remove the spruce and larch trees in order to promote the bog vegetation.

Protection purpose

The habitats are to be protected for many according to the red list of endangered plants, fungi and animals in NRW and the preservation and optimization of the existing, biotope type bog.
