Mohammed Ali Amar (born November 5, 1966 in Ceuta , Spain ), known as Nayim , is a former Spanish football player of Moroccan descent. He played in midfield .

Career

Nayim began his career in the youth of FC Barcelona . He made his debut in the first team in 1986. After he had not really been able to assert himself in Barcelona, he was loaned to Tottenham Hotspur in 1988 and sold there a year later.

With the Spurs he won the FA Cup in 1991 . His skill and feel for the ball made him a fan favorite alongside Paul Gascoigne .

In 1993, after 144 games and 18 goals, he moved to Real Saragossa , where he won the Spanish Cup in 1994 and scored his most famous goal. In his last years as a professional he played on CD Logroñés .

Today he is assistant coach at Segunda División B -Club AD Ceuta .

40-meter hit

Nayim scored one of the most famous gates of the 1990s, when he in 1995 in the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup the keeper of Arsenal FC , David Seaman overcame, from 40 meters - in the last minute of extra time. Saragossa won the trophy with this hit, which was also called "One flew over Seaman's head" (German: One flew over Seaman's head , parody of one flew over the cuckoo's nest ).

It was also felt ironic that Nayim was an ex-player for Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal's arch-rival.

When Arsenal lost to Barcelona's Belletti in the 2006 Champions League final , a song sung by Spurs fans began to circulate which read: "Chim-chimney Chim-Chimney Chim Chim Maroo, Nayim from 40, Belletti from 2 "(" Nayim from 40, Belletti from 2 ").
