N'dalatando is the capital of the Angolan province of Cuanza Norte and the seat of the diocese of N'dalatando . Until the independence of Angola in 1975, the place had the Portuguese name Vila Salazar .
history
After Portuguese traders settled here around 1840, a first administrative post was set up in Caculo-Camuinza in 1879, which included the growing town of N'dalatando. In 1936 it became the administrative center itself and was given the name Vila Salazar , dedicated to the Portuguese dictator Salazar . On May 28, 1956, the previous small town ( Vila ) was elevated to a city ( Cidade ). After independence in 1975, the place was given its current name, with a decree of July 18, 1976.

N'dalatando is the seat of a municipality of the same name (Comuna) in the district ( Município ) of Cazengo , in the province of Cuanza Norte . It is also the capital of the province.
Sports
The municipal stadium of N'dalatando, the Estádio Municipal Santos Diniz , seats 6,000.
In the city, the three football clubs Porcelana FC , Jovens Unidos Futebol Clube and Braga Futebol Clube have been licensed to play by the Angolan FAF since 2009 . In 2013 Porcelana FC played in the top division of Angola, in Girabola, for one season .
