Ndrek Prela

Ndrek Prela (born March 20, 1920 in Bar , Kingdom of Yugoslavia , † October 14, 2011 in Shkodra , Albania ) was an Albanian actor. He received the title Artist i merituar - one of the most coveted awards in the Albanian art scene. Prela was also one of the founding fathers of the Migjeni Theater in Shkodra. He played various roles in theater and in film.

Life

Ndrek Prela was born in 1920 in the Adriatic city of Bar in Montenegro and lived in Argentina during his childhood , where his father had emigrated for economic reasons. From there the family returned to Europe after a while, where they settled in Shkodra in northern Albania.

Prela made his theater debut in Shkodra in the late 1940s and quickly became one of the most popular actors in Albania. Until he retired, Prela took part in almost all the performances of the Shkodran theater company.

1963 Ndrek Prela made his debut as a film actor, where he took on the secondary role in the film Detyrë e posaçme . This was followed by several roles in the films Komisari i dritës , Në fillim të verës , Në pyjet me borë ka jetë , Emblema e dikurshme , Balonat , Qortimet e vjeshtës , Militanti , Balada e Kurbinit and many others. Although Prela mostly played the secondary role, he had been admired for his distinctive features.

Ndrek Prela was married and had a son. His wife passed away shortly before his death. His son Kolë Prela is also an actor.

Prela died on October 14, 2011 at the age of 91 in Shkodra.
