Jacob Flesch

Jacob Wilhelm Flesch (born July 27, 1885 in Frankfurt am Main ; † January 5, 1972 there ) was a German lawyer and notary .

Life

Flesch was born as the son of the lawyer and social politician Karl Flesch . He attended the Souchay School, then the Goethe Gymnasium, where he passed the school leaving examination in 1903, and studied law and economics at the universities of Heidelberg , Berlin and Marburg . In 1908 he was with a dissertation Professional confidentiality of the doctor at the University of Leipzig Dr. jur. PhD.

In 1911 Flesch settled in Frankfurt as a lawyer, from 1924 he was also a notary. In 1924 he was elected to the board of directors of the Frankfurt Lawyers' Association, to which he served as chairman from 1925 until its dissolution in 1933. Because of his Jewish descent, he had to give up his notary's office in 1933. During the time of National Socialism he continued to work in the law firm of his friends, lawyers Karl Rasor and Hans Wilhelmi . After 1945 he re-established his law firm with a notary's office, which he ran until 1967.

After the end of the Second World War he was the founder of the “Association of Lawyers”, from which the Frankfurt Bar Association and the Frankfurt Bar Association emerged. He was president until 1966. He was also a member of the board of directors of the Federal Bar Association.

He was married to Lilla born Kinsley (1885–1972). Richard K. Flesch was a son.
