Neal Asher (born February 4, 1961 in Billericay , Essex ) is an English science fiction writer . He is best known for the Polis romance cycle.

Life

According to his own statements, he spent a calm childhood in his birthplace. His enthusiasm for the strange was mainly aroused by Tolkien's The Little Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings . He also benefited from the fact that his parents were also enthusiastic about science fiction. Neal Asher has been a full-time writer since 2000.

Above all, his works are characterized by their ingenuity. The majority of his previously published works ( Ian Cormac , Spatterjay ) take place in the Polity universe (Polity: English for constitution, government, state).
