Career

Defensive midfielder Khalil Mohammad was born in Syria and fled to Germany with his family at the age of four. He spent four years in a refugee shelter in East Frisia . He started his career at FC Norden and after only one year moved to the youth team at Kickers Emden . In 2004 the family moved to Wuppertal , where Khalil Mohammad continued his career at Grün-Weiß Wuppertal . A short time later he moved to the youth department of Borussia Mönchengladbach . In 2010 he made his debut in the second men's team of Borussia in the fourth-class Regionalliga West . After Khalil Mohammad completed trial training at the professional clubs VVV-Venlo and Preußen Münster , but was not signed, he switched to league rivals SG Wattenscheid 09 .

There he completed 57 regional league games in two years, in which he remained without scoring. This was followed by a year each at the league rivals Alemannia Aachen and SC Wiedenbrück , where he made 25 and 22 appearances respectively. In Wiedenbrück in particular, Khalil Mohammad developed into a top performer and was observed by several third division clubs. Finally, in the summer of 2018, he moved to the third division KFC Uerdingen . Due to a knee injury, he was only able to make his professional debut on December 17, 2018 in the KFC's 2-0 victory at SV Wehen Wiesbaden .

In summer 2020, regional league team VfB Homberg announced Mohammad's commitment for the 2020/21 season.
