Necrytis is an American heavy metal / power metal - band .

history

The band leaders are guitarist Toby Knapp and drummer and singer Shane Wacaster. In the musical Vita Knapps are u. a. the US metal band Onward , the stylistically related band Where Evil Follows named after an onward song, and the black metal groups Waxen and Godless Rising . At Wacaster, it's Pandemonium and Sue's Idol .

Together with bassist Mark Sobus they recorded the debut album Countersighns from 2016 : drums, bass and vocals from July to September 2016 in the Old Hall music studio in Barningham , UK , guitar in January and February 2017 in the US studio "The Meth Lab" in Big Horn ( Wyoming ). The ballad Dawn's Aurora was recorded with the support of the Nephilim Barock Ensemble. The mastering was done by Jens Bogren in Fascination Street Studios . The artwork was drawn by the French artist JP Fournier. a. Immortal ( At the Heart of Winter ) and Impaled Nazarene (Nihil) belong. Countersighns was released in autumn 2017 via Electrikill Records and was distributed by Pure Steel Publishing.

The band then signed a contract directly with Pure Steel Records , where the second studio album Dread En Ruin was released in summer 2018 . The same studios were used as before: Old Hall in July and September 2017 for drums and vocals and The Meth Lab from October to December 2017 for guitar and bass, both of which were recorded by Toby Knapp after Mark Sobus left. Again Jens Bogren did the mastering and JP Fournier did the artwork. The pieces Starshine and Necrytis were released as digital singles via Soundcloud .

style

Stylistically, the band can be classified as US metal, as Onward played it. In addition, the debut album has melody structures that have influences from Iron Maiden and Judas Priest .

Fates Warning , Queensryche , early Def Leppard and Jethro Tull were identified as influences for the second work . In other words, the style was "traditional, direct 80s US metal with a melodic impact" as ( English "traditional, straight 80s US power metal with a slight melodic edge" ), respectively.
