Neferetkau was a princess of the ancient Egyptian 4th Dynasty and a daughter of Pharaoh Sneferu . She had a son named Nefermaat who was vizier . Nothing is known about a Neferetkau husband. Inscriptions in the grave of her son and grandson Snofruchaef have led Kurt Sethe to consider Snefru as the father of Nefermaat Neferetkau's own father. George Andrew Reisner was able to refute this theory through new discoveries.

dig

Neferetkau most likely owns the mastaba G 7050 in the east cemetery of the Great Pyramid of Cheops . It bears no inscriptions, but the direct structural connection of this mastaba with those of her son (G 7060) and her grandson (G 7070) suggests that it was intended for Neferetkau. The tomb was used for new burials during the Saïtic ( 26th Dynasty ) or Ptolemaic times and is now severely damaged .
