Snofruchaef (according to another reading Chaefsnofru ) was a prince of the ancient Egyptian 4th dynasty . He was a son of the vizier Nefermaat and thus a great-grandson of Pharaoh Sneferu . Reliefs from his grave show two sons, whose names are unknown.

His grave

Snofruchaef owns the mastaba G 7070 in the east cemetery of the Great Pyramid of Cheops . It contained an unlabeled sarcophagus that is now in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo . The sacrificial chapel of the grave complex contains, among other reliefs, a genealogical inscription that Snofruchaef classifies behind his royal great-grandfather Snefru, his grandmother Neferetkau and his father Nefermaat. Based on this inscription, Kurt Sethe came to the erroneous assumption that Sneferu had fathered a son with his own daughter. However, recent discoveries by George Andrew Reisner have refuted this theory .
