Life

Nehemia Grodon was born in 1972 in the American state of Illinois to an Orthodox Jewish family. He comes from an old family of rabbis and also completed a classically Orthodox rabbinical training. As a youth, however, he rejected the oral tradition of the Mosaic Law ( Mishnah ) and the Talmud from an early age .

In 1993 he emigrated to Israel and settled in the old city of Jerusalem . He became a member of Karaean Judaism and has since served on the board of directors of the Jerusalem Kenessa . He graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and participated in the Dead Sea Scrolls publication project coordinated by Emanuel Tov and the Hebrew University Bible project under the auspices of Shemaryahu Talmon .

In 1999, Gordon co-founded a global Karaite movement and a number of other Karaean institutions, and also conducted scientific research to highlight the superiority of Karaism over Orthodox Judaism. This research also led him to re-discuss Jesus and the New Testament. 2007–2008 he was dean of Karaite Jewish University. Gordon regularly travels to America and takes part in various television discussions.
