Neill Archer

Neill Archer (born August 31, 1961 in Northampton ) is an English opera singer ( tenor ).

Life

Archer studied singing from 1979 to 1982 at the University of East Anglia and from 1981 to 1982 at the Brevard Music Center in North Carolina . He made his official debut at Kent Opera in 1987 as Tamino in Mozart's opera Die Zauberflöte . In 1988 he sang the role of Ubaldo in Joseph Haydn's Armida under Nikolaus Harnoncourt . In 1990 he made his debut at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden as Jaquino in Beethoven's only opera Fidelio . Further engagements in Turin , Parma and Basel followed.
