Brodu necropolis

The Brodu necropolis is located near Oniferi in the province of Nuoro in Sardinia . The necropolis once consisted of four Domus de Janas , of which only two are well preserved. The rock tombs of the Ozieri culture are interesting from an architectural point of view because of their red paintwork and their bull reliefs .

Outline sketch

By Dromoi leads into a small antechamber and from there into a central hall. Above the entrance to the burial chamber, which consists of a raised door frame, there is a stylized bas-relief of superimposed “bull horns” . Further smaller cells can be reached from the central chamber.

The Nuraghe Brodu is located on the nearby trachy hill that dominates the area. Its outer wall has a large gap on one side and the entire tower has partially collapsed.
