The necropolis of Ponte Secco is an archaeological site between Li Lioni and Ottava, southwest of the road between Sassari and Porto Torres in the province of Sassari in Sardinia .

The necropolis, consisting of 13 Domus de Janas , lies on the front of a 450 m long limestone ledge . Some of the systems are accessible vertically, others via horizontal dromoi . The number of chambers in a system varies between three and fifteen. Most have typical architectural details (beams, posts, pillars, ledges, baseboards and lintels). The unique, round entrance of the T-shaped grave III is directed towards the altar of Monte d'Accoddi .

La Tomba delle protomi

Although damaged by the collapse of parts of the ceiling, the most interesting complex is Tomb IIA, also known as the tomb of the busts (ital. Protomi). It is the only one with access slightly above ground level. The complex consists of eleven side chambers around two central chambers, which have a total area of about 80 m². Inside you can see rich wall ornamentation in relief, mainly consisting of depictions of bulls' heads.

The facility was examined by Antonello Baltolu, Ercole Contu and Maria Luisa Ferrarese Ceruti. During the excavations have been wrist guards , the fragment of an idol of the Mother Goddess of white limestone , pearl chain, buttons, arrowheads from flint , pendants from the canines of foxes, fragments of vessels, all of Ozieri- (3200-2800 v. Chr. ) and the bell beaker culture (2100–1800 BC) are found. Most of the finds are shown in the ethnographic Museo Nazionale GA Sanna in Sassari.
