Nell Leyshon
Nell Leyshon (* 1962 in Glastonbury , Somerset , England ) is an English playwright and author .
Life
Leyshon graduated from the University of Southampton with an honors degree in English literature . Since 2002 she has published her plays, some of which were first broadcast as radio plays on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio 3 . Two of her novels and two short stories in one volume were published between 2004 and 2008.
Leyshon was visiting professor at the University of Southampton in 2011. She lives in the county of Dorset .

- 2007: based on a short story by Daphne du Maurier Don't Look Now which was commissioned by the Sheffield Theaters . In the performance at the Lyceum Theater in Sheffield with music by J. Peter Schwalm led Lucy Baily Director. Further performances took place at the Lyric Theater Hammersmith , London.
- 2009: Paradise. with the Salt Factory drama collective from Dorset was performed in the south west of England.
- 2010: Bedlam. at the Globe Theater in London. It is the first play by a female author to be performed in the Globe since it was founded in 1599 and is set in the 18th century in the London insane asylum Bethlem Royal Hospital, also known as Bedlam , which still existed in Bromley in 2011 . It premiered at the Globe on September 5, 2010.
