Nelson Sebastián Maz (born November 20, 1984 in Durazno ) is a Uruguayan football player on the position of a striker . In Mexico he won the second division championship five times with four different clubs .
career
Maz began his professional career in 2004 with Peñarol Montevideo and then played for six months each with Central Español and Montevideo Wanderers before moving to Mexico in the summer of 2007 . There he first played for the second division club Indios de Ciudad Juárez , with whom he immediately won the Apertura championship in 2007 and at the end of the season made promotion to the first division . In the following season 2008/09 he completed six missions in the top division, but could not prevail and was given in the winter break to the second division Dorados de Sinaloa .
In the following season 2009/10 he won both second division championships with Club Necaxa . But he was not allowed to enjoy the fruits of the associated promotion to the top division, but was sold to the second division club Tiburones Rojos Veracruz .
In the 2011/12 season he won the second division championship of Mexico again with Club León in the Clausura 2012 and, with the subsequent victory in the overall season finale against the UAT Correcaminos, he was promoted to the Mexican Primera División for the third time in his career. However, Maz was not there in the impressive 5-0 win in the second leg because he was sent off in the first leg (which was lost 2-1).
In the subsequent Apertura 2012 , Maz scored a total of nine goals, but a year later - Club León's first championship win in more than twenty years - he was eliminated from the squad because León had too many foreigners under contract. In the following Clausura in 2014 he was allowed to play for León again and was therefore part of the team that was able to successfully defend the championship title.
He spent the first five months of 2015 on loan from the Mineros de Zacatecas . His stake in the club includes ten league games (one goal) and six games (one goal) in the Copa México . Maz has been on loan at FC Juárez since mid-June 2015 . He won the second division championship with the team in the Apertura 2015. In the 2015/16 season he has so far (as of August 13, 2016) played 13 league games in Primera A and scored two goals. He was also used four times (two goals) in the Mexican Cup.
