Nepomuk statue (Kirchhausen)

Nepomuk statue from 1758

The Nepomuk statue is a statue from the Baroque period in the Heilbronn district of Kirchhausen . It is made of sandstone and shows St. John Nepomuk , as he is often depicted, as a canon with a short beard and a crucifix in his arm. On the renewed high base it bears a Latin inscription, the capital letters of which, in the manner of a chronogram, indicate the year 1758 as a Roman number .

Around 1900 the statue stood north of the Kirchhausen Teutonic Order Castle at a small water basin that served as a horse pond. It was temporarily placed in the Teutonic Order Castle, and since 2000 it has stood in its current location on Poststrasse.
