The Nereson Glacier is an 8 km long glacier on the Siple Island off the Bakutis coast of the West Antarctic Marie Byrd Land . It drains the north side of the island and flows into the Getz Ice Shelf .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 2003 after the US glaciologist Nadine A. Nereson from the University of Washington , who had been dealing with ice movements in Antarctica since the 1990s and then focused on the stability of the Antarctic ice sheet .
