The Neudorfer Schäferteich , also Neudorfer Kleiner Teich 2 , is a reservoir in the middle Lower Harz in Neudorf , Saxony-Anhalt and one of the two barrages of the Neudorf artificial pond . The former pond is part of the Unterharzer pond and ditch system .

description

The Neudorfer kleine Teich 2 was built around 1811 as the first pre-barrier of the Neudorf artificial pond. The pond was used as an artificial pond until 1902 - around 50 years before Neudorf's small pond 1 . As the only pond of the Unterharzer pond and ditch system, this pond had no connection with the Silberhütte artificial ditch and only belongs to the network system because of its function as a pre-barrier. The pond was drained. The timing of the abandonment and the reason for it are unknown.

The pond is now water-bearing again and has a steel pipe as an overflow, but it is apparently operated without a bottom drain and flood relief system. The renovation was possibly carried out in connection with the renovation of the new Neudorf pond.

Neudorfer Kleine Teich 2 is heavily silted up , largely swampy and only has a small amount of open water. Large parts of the pond are overgrown with horsetail .

Inflow and outflow

Overflow in 2012

The village ditch Neudorf , which rises in the forest park on the Hinterstrasse in Neudorf, is dammed. The village moat does not have water all year round and is only a few hundred meters long. The flow ordinal number is 7.

The overflow of Neudorfer kleine Teich 2 has been damaged since at least 2011 - the pipeline fell apart. The water no longer flows directly into Neudorf's new pond, but into a short stream that flows a few meters later into Neudorfer's new pond.
