The New Synagogue in Milevsko (German Mühlhausen ), a Czech city in the South Bohemian Region , was built from 1914 to 1919. The secluded synagogue on Sokolovská Street has been a protected cultural monument since 2006 .

history

The synagogue was built according to plans by the Prague architect Střílek and replaced a previous building from the 18th century. Its style, a mixture of neoclassical and cubist elements, is unique in synagogue architecture. Inside there is the women's gallery on three sides , which can be reached via the stairs on the street-side facade.

During the Second World War , the building was used as a retail store.

The synagogue building of the Hussite Church has served as a place of worship since 1950 .
