Neuensiener See
The Neuensiener See bay is a bay in the northeast of the Ruegen Bodden , which cuts deep into the Granitz in the southeast of Ruegen . The eponymous town of Neuensien , a district of Sellin, is located on the east bank of the bay . The bay borders the municipality of Lancken-Granitz in the west and north .
The bay is around 1.1 kilometers long and up to 500 meters wide with an area of 47.2 hectares and opens towards the south over the Lancker Bek to Having . The water is very shallow, only in the south at the transition to Lancker Bek is the bay over two meters deep. The north bank is completely enclosed. The entire bay and its surroundings lie in the Neuensiener and Selliner See nature reserve . To the north of the lake are the salt marshes, some of which are below sea level .
