The Neuhüttenalm (also: Köhler-Alm ) is an alpine pasture in the municipality of Bayrischzell .
The Neuhüttenalm alpine hut is a listed building and is entered in the Bavarian monument list under number D-1-82-112-54 .
Building description
The Neuhüttenalm alpine hut is a ground-floor log building on a broken stone base with a flat saddle roof . The building is marked with the year 1678 above the entrance. The stable is marked with the year 1809 and the ridge purlin with the year 1822. The interior was rebuilt in 1950 and 2000.
The hut is the second oldest alpine hut in the district after the Höllei-Kaser . It is also the last hut in the Bavarian Alps with an open fireplace. However, this may no longer be used today for reasons of fire protection law.
