The Neuhüttenalm is an alpine pasture in the Bavarian Prealps . The alpine pasture area is located in the municipality of Bad Wiessee in the high saddle between the mountains Fockenstein and Neuhütteneck. The Alm has four huts and a chapel .
history
The Alm is mentioned in Gerhard Oelkers' book as early as 1427. In 1716, four farmers joined the seven alpine farmers who formed a community until 1840. From 1897 to 1902 the huts changed hands several times by exchanging them. Today the huts are owned by three families who form an alpine community and manage the alpine pasture with around 60 cows.
The eastern alpine hut, the Hagnhütte from the first half of the 19th century and the chapel from 1922 are listed as historical monuments . The chapel was built to commemorate the the First World War fallen members of the clubs alpine skiers built. A ski hut is located a little away from the alpine huts.
The Neuhüttenalm can be reached from Bad Wiessee over the Sonnenbichl along the forest road through the Zeiselbachtal and over the Aueralm, as well as over the Söllbachtal along the Aueralpengraben.
Coming from Lenggries , the Alm lies along the Maximiliansweg , a long-distance hiking trail that leads from Lindau on Lake Constance along the German Alps to Berchtesgaden.
