The Neuhewen , also called Neuhöwen, is located in the district of Engen- Stetten in the district of Konstanz in Baden-Württemberg . At 867.2 m above sea level NHN it is the highest of the Hegau volcanoes. The ruins of the Stettener Schlösschen ( Neuhewen Castle ) are located on the summit .
Location and surroundings
The mountain is located one kilometer north of the municipality of Engen-Stetten im Hegau .
geology
The Neuhewen is of volcanic origin. In the ruins area, the basalt (Ba, Melilith-Nephelinite) is in the form of particularly thick columns, which are interpreted as the chimney filling. There is no tuff coat.
