The Neunkircher traffic GmbH (NVG) is a transport company of the local public transport , based in Saarland Neunkirchen . It is integrated into the Saarland Transport Association (SaarVV).

history

Originally, as the operator of the Neunkirchen tram , the NVG was a pure tram company and operated under the name Neunkircher Straßenbahn AG . The first tram rolled through Neunkirchen on September 13, 1907. Bus operations began in 1924, and by 1934 up to three million passengers were carried annually. During the Second World War , the route network was badly damaged as a result of intensive bombing of the industrial city. Until 1949, all parts of the route could be restored. Trolleybuses were used from August 1, 1953, but were replaced by one-man omnibuses as early as 1965. After 71 years, the last tram passed through Neunkirchen on June 10, 1978. Since then, the company has operated under its current name. Today, NVG only uses low-floor buses .
