history

Initially, the Neuschönningstedt part of Schönningstedt consisted of little more than the “Haidkrug” restaurant at the Möllner Landstrasse / Haidkrugchaussee intersection and a few houses built along the Möllner Landstrasse. There was also a garden colony on Langeloher Weg, some houses from the pre-war period are still there today. After the Second World War , many people who had become homeless in the bombing of Hamburg moved to this area and built makeshift apartments there, which were further expanded and modernized in the post-war period. The "Haidkrug" was torn down at the end of the 1980s.

In the 1960s and 1970s, Neuschönningstedt was developed to a larger extent as a new building area, with parts belonging to the neighboring village of Stemwarde and Glinde also being incorporated. The Gertrud-Lege-Schule (elementary school) named after the former mayor of Schönningstedt, a shopping center and the Evangelical Lutheran parish “Gethsemane” were created. The meeting place is a central meeting place for young and old, it was inaugurated on September 20, 1974.

On January 1, 1974, the municipality Schönningstedt (with Neuschönningstedt and Ohe ) was incorporated into the city of Reinbek as part of the regional reform . The football club FC Voran Ohe trains on the Neuschönningstedter sports field, the Buff Club Reinbek plays its home games on the field.
