New Knoxville is a small town in Auglaize County in the US state of Ohio . The place was founded in 1835. 891 inhabitants live on a community area of 2.0 km² (as of 2000) .
The Historical Society of the New Knoxville Community maintains a museum. Three of the buildings in the Heritage Center Complex are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is a house, a doctor's office and a kitchen belonging to the distinguished and prominent parishioner HE Fledderjohann , who lived in New Knoxville at the turn of the 20th century.
New Knoxville is home to the First United Church of Christ and New Knoxville United Methodist Church (formerly Salem Methodist). The Hoge Lumber company is the largest local employer and the world's largest producer of wooden bowling alleys. The Way International religious organization is also based in New Knoxville. To the west of the city is Neil Armstrong Airport, so named in honor of the famous astronaut. Neil Armstrong was from Auglaize County.
There is a town partnership with Ladbergen in North Rhine-Westphalia - some of the ancestors of today's residents came as emigrants from Ladbergen in the 19th century .
